Oscars 2018
The Oscars - the night of nights where the world’s best actors and actresses take the red carpet to celebrate their outstanding performances.
A sea of style makes way on the carpet in all shapes and forms. Within the mix, we have the ones who stand out, the ones who nearly got it, and of course, the ones who should have reconsidered their choice…
Nicole Kidman, for me, ticked all the boxes in her Armani Privé gown. Beautifully structured and contoured to her body in a dramatic but neat bow. Perfect hue choice for the gown as it complimented her porcelain skin. Flawless make-up, simple hair do and a touch of bling brought her elegant look together perfectly!
Sparkling in white from head to toe, Jane Fonda in Balmain shows us that age has no barriers. This classic style with a modern neckline, just compliments her amazing shape that Miss Fonda is renowned for!
Looking like a ‘golden princess warrior’ in her stunning metallic Dior Haute Couture gown, Jennifer Lawrence turned heads as she made her way down the red carpet. Glowing make-up in earthy tones and locks of beach waves made her picture perfect!
When in Chanel, a girl should be two things: classy and fabulous – and that’s exactly what Margot Robbie did. ‘Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance’ which was featured in her pure white gown.
Now over to the ones that may have misunderstood the brief or just simply got it completely wrong…
I loved the whole ‘tone on tone’ Berluti suit that Timothée Chalamet wore. As great as an outfit may be, if the shoe doesn’t fit, it’ll destroy the look. A softer or more complimentary hue in his shoe choice would have completed his style.
I’m all for showcasing individuality, but I’m not sure what happened to Andra Day in this Zac Posen gown! It appears as if she is drowning in a whole lot of puffed out material, which may have come from her window drapes! Not a flattering look what-so-ever.
From too much to too little, as Blanca Blanco demonstrated in her revealing Atria Couture gown, clearly not the most appropriate attire for the Oscars. As the saying goes, ‘less is more’ though in this case, quite the contrary!
So that’s another Oscar’s red carpet wrap - a salute to those who showed Hollywood what glamour is all about!
Maurizio ;-)
