2019 Golden Globes
Golden Globes 2019
The red carpet awaits celebrities to showcase it with more varied hues after last year’s all black dress code in protest of sexual harassment in Hollywood. So the question is… which celebrities brought inspiration to the red carpet and which ones needed another glance in the mirror before stepping out!!!
Though she may not have been in the public eye much of late, Julia Roberts, for me, shone on the red carpet effortlessly. Wearing Stella McCartney, it’s simplicity in pure elegance. All elements, hair, make up and accessories fit her look to a T!
Monochrome is a favourite on red carpets and Charlize Theron wearing Dior Haute Couture does it justice. Though on the other hand Amber Heard wearing Monique Lhuillier must have thought an 80’s bridesmaids look would be right on the night… not!
You can’t go wrong in white and both Jamie Lee Curtis in Alexander McQueen and Sandra Oh in Versace have done just that. A round of applause is needed for Lee as for an older gal she sure outshone some of the Y-gens.
I’m all for originality, if ones delivers it correctly like Lucy Liu wearing Galia Lahav Couture. I just love the soft fabric with the bold dramatic details which just work beautifully together under the soft tulle cape. On the other hand, I’m not too sure what was going on with Joanna Newsom’s gown. Wearing Rodarte, it just looks like a child’s home project.
There is an admiration for the femininity of lace and Emily Blunt wearing Alexander McQueen did just that. The intricate composition of the lace is so striking in this gorgeous hue which seems to be in the silver/grey family.
Looking exquisite in bold emerald green, Catherine Zeta-Jones delivers ‘old Hollywood glamour’ in this stunning Elie Saab gown.
She is known for ‘dramatic’ entrances and she did that once again in a magnificent Valentino Haute Couture gown. Lady Gaga stole the spotlight with her powder blue gown and matching hair. She expressed what the red carpet is all about - glitz and glam!
And that’s a wrap on the courageous and charming looks from the 2019 Golden Globes.
