Logies 2018
It’s also the night where Aussie stars get all glitzed and glammed for a red carpet event. Though the big question is… has the 80’s bridesmaid look made its way back on the red carpet???
This year, I must say, I was so surprised and relieved to see these gorgeous ladies rock up in a tux suit. In the classic tux with a feminine touch, both Deborah Mailman and Virginia Trioli owned their looks! Trioli added her feminine touch with bling earrings and an oversized corsage whereas Mailman kept it simple with her dazzling clutch.
Ksenija Lukich who arrived in a gorgeous Armani suit sparkled on the red carpet with all elements, hair, make-up and accessories complimenting her look!
Now I’m not big for a one shoulder gown but these ladies seemed to deliver elegance in their looks: Sylvia Jeffreys in Rebecca Vallance glitzed in her gown as Shelley Craft glowed with simplicity in hers.
I love the simplicity of Sophia Forrest’s pantsuit by m a r i a m.seddiq though unfortunately her choice of shoe let her look down. A rocking ‘out there’ stiletto would have complimented and elevated her style.
I still am not sure what to make of Leila McKinnon’s gown by Constantina Danis.
I keep looking at it and still not sure what to make of it? Credit needs to be given for originality, though having another glance as I write this it’s Leila’s hair that doesn’t do the gown justice! Both her hair and gown are full in texture. Therefore, a simple slick back hair in a neat ponytail would have made her shine.
So now it’s over the ones who… um… well, what can I say, may have needed some TLC with their look…
I don’t really watch much mainstream TV so I wasn’t really sure who this person was? Apparently, she was in a show where you get Married at First Sight? (sounds weird… !). Anyhow, Davina Rankin is her name and maybe she should have gotten herself another gown looking at the sight of this one! There was no sophistication or grace to her look whatsoever. The Bee Gees “Tragedy” song was all that came to my mind when I saw her on the red carpet! (Insert emoji ‘shocked’ face)
Sigrid Thornton… oh my! Surely you could have come up with more modern fabric from Spotlight than having to use mother’s brocade curtains? (Insert another emoji ‘shocked’ face)
Vibrant red was a great choice in hue for Tracey Grimshaw but she looked like she was drowning in her gown. This shapeless dress didn’t do her any justice. Her look, along with the barrel curls hairdo, gave an appearance that just aged her!
And that’s a wrap on this year’s 2018 Logies red carpet looks… a few ladies made the “wow” statement on the red carpet, but quite a few did have elements of the 80’s bridesmaid look!!! (Insert 3rd time emoji ‘shocked’ face)
