Logies 2016!
The time has come where Australian talent is praised for all its form in the television industry. So where there is an award, a red carpet comes with it... this year, has the 80's bridesmaid attire finally gone? Here we have a look at the hits and misses...
We start with my favourite for the evening Jesinta Campbell. Wearing a daring but beautiful Camilla & Marc gown, the detail to this dress is just fabulous and Jesinta's hair and make up are well suited to her look. Perfect nail colour choice and accessories, just simple earrings - voila!
Simply "Stunning" is the only word to describe Jessica Marais in J'Aton! This structured gown with its delicate detail is both sexy and sophisticated. Soft and glowing make up compliments her look and my all time favourite slick back ponytail hair-do brings it all together flawlessly!
I love this very feminine and 70's-ified influence in Marta Dusseldorp's Dolce e Gabbana gown. The soft dreamy silhouette with its bold floral print brings a breath of fresh air to the event. Gorgeous statement earrings and soft, messy 'do is matched perfectly, though more of a lip colour in her make-up would have topped it off!
Carrie Bickmore oozes sex appeal in her Paolo Sebastian gown. This outstanding gown comprised of leather, raffia and exquisite beading is a true winner!
And for the misses (there sure were a few), too many to comment on so here a some hand-picked ones...
Delta Goodrem. I'm sure I've seen those curtains hanging in someones house!!! I know it was a Bridal inspired dress, but it is an award ceremony, not a church ceremony!!! The gown just made her look older than she is!
Jennifer Hawkins, who should know what to wear at social occasions sure got it all wrong here. In Alex Perry, this dress is simply the wrong attire for the Logies. For a club, a sure stand out, if that!!!
Last but not least, I think someone should have told Gamble Breaux "less is more"! Not sure where she was going with her jewelled leg brace, but it sure makes a statement in all the wrong ways. Maybe she's auditioning for the next "Terminator" flick???
Well there you have it, a major improvement from last year's Logies on the red carpet. A big "well done" to all those fine ladies who put the effort in and made a statement!
Maurizio ;-)
